By the end of third quarter, I will teach the Proficiency in Sentence Writing SIM Strategy order to move the bottom 1/3 of students to at least 50% on WRITE, and improve their simple and compound sentences by eliminating their sentence fragments and demonstrating correct punctuation.

  • Starting Point: Currently, 71 students are currently scoring below the 50% on the WRITE assessment.
  • One-Quarter: 20% of students will score at 50% or higher, 100% of the time on the WRITE assessment, and write complete sentences with sentence variety.
  • Midpoint: 40% of students will score at 50% or higher, 100% of the time on the WRITE assessment, and write complete sentences with sentence variety.
  • Three-Quarters: 60% of students will score at 50% or higher, 100% of the time on the WRITE assessment, and write complete sentences with sentence variety.
  • Target Goal: 80% of students will score at 50% or higher, 100% of the time on the WRITE assessment, and write complete sentences with sentence variety.
